Well, the point is to grow your business. That’s fairly obvious. I wrote about the ‘social soft sell’ a couple of months ago. Social media outlets and your website are where that soft sell, and content marketing, happen. Rather than taking an ad out in a magazine and waiting for the phone to ring, you engage potential clients by providing an ongoing dialogue; a.k.a. content. I’m doing it right now by writing this.
I have a client who’s a builder. We’ve been working together for a few months. He’s gotten direct results from his eBlasts and we’ve also been hitting the social stuff consistently. Today I Googled a term relevant to his business, on a computer other than my own, and his business holds eight of the top 10 spots on the first page of Google. Hitting high on Google is good for business. Any business.
