This image, by the ever-talented Carla Ten Eyck, is one of my all-time faves in my entire career. It’s from the fashion shoot for the 2012 edition of Southern New England Living. We were shooting at the Boston Design Center. Gorgeous model – check. Great outfit from Puritan Cape Cod – check. But I felt we needed something more so I was prowling the hallways and happened upon this dog in an adjacent office. The dog happened to match the dress we were getting ready to shoot. The dog’s daddy was totally on board with inserting his baby into our shoot so, after a quick trip outside, the dog was ready for his close up. The model treated it like it was just another day at the office and nailed her strut with doggie in tow. I can’t exactly say it was perfectly planned but the image is damned-near perfect.
